箱根には20種類の名前のある温泉があります。昔は箱根７湯といわれ、のちに17湯になり、現在は20湯を数えるようになりました。それ以外にも箱根には、たくさんの自家源泉を持つ宿泊施設があります。強羅花扇の温泉も自家源泉です。

Hakone 20 Types of Hot Springs

Being one of Japan’s most famous hot spring area, Hakone traces its history 1.280 years ago when the first hot spring was discovered here. When Toyotomi Hideyoshi attacked the Hojo Family in 1590 (known as Siege of Odawara) people around Japan began to gives their attention to Hakone`s hot spring potential.
This area is home to 20 major hot springs, collectively known as the ‘Hakone 20 hot spring’, each with different mineral composition and benefits. Amongst these 20, 7 have particularly long history. These 7 are Yumoto, Tonosawa, Miyanoshita, Dogashima, Sokokura, Kiga and Ahinoyu hot springs. In addition to them, there are so many private hot springs source in Hakone area.
Gora Hanaougi’s hot spring is also one of that private hot spring source. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content!
